"Storm Over Kilauea"
Mount Kilauea in Hawaii, with it's beautiful flowing lava ~ which I'd love to see someday. I've named it "Storm Over Kilauea"

"Mt RossMore"
This piece measures 16" x 21", and is framed in a shadowbox frame.
"When the landmark theme was announced,my first thought was a huge, majestic, beautiful "live oak" tree, in front of the school our grandchildren go to. Then, one evening when the grandchildren and our son were here, we were tossing around ideas. I said I really wanted to find something with a more universal appeal. Then everybody got excited! "How about a universal landmark?". After that I don't really remember which of us said what, but I ended up doing "Mount RossMore", which is what we think an intergalactic landmark would look like, honoring heroes from all the planets."

"Horus, the Egyptian Falcon-god, is "lord of the sky" and a symbol of divine kingship. The Horus necklace that he is wearing is directly from Egypt, ( I added a few seed beads on it for some additional bling). "

" This landmark is a famous one for Florence, Oregon. This is the drawbridge built in the 30's which spans the Siuslaw River."

"I
chose the The Emerald City for a couple of reasons: One, because "The Wizard Of Oz" is one of my most loved
stories... And two, because Dorothy was seeking the Emerald City in her quest to
return home."

"Somewhere over the Rainbow"
"My inspiration for this mosaic was from the song, "Over The Rainbow!"
Judy Garland sang this song in the 1939 movie "The Wizard Of Oz!" She
loved the song and forever is identified with it. Years later a well
know Hawaiian, musician "Israel Kamakawiwo Ole', made his version "Over
The Rainbow/What A Wonderful World," known world wide. Both musicians
have since passed away but their music lives on in the hearts of all who
hear it! I work mostly with broken dishes. My art is a mixture of imagination
and fantasies! "Over The Rainbow," isn't a real place but in the minds
of many...it does exist!
Materials used: Broken dishes, millefiori, twigs, glass ECO accent tiles and a clock tile."

"The Palace of Fine Arts San Francisco"
The Palace of Fine Arts in the Marina District of San Francisco, California, is a monumental structure originally constructed for the 1915 Panama-Pacific Exposition in order to exhibit works of art presented there. One of only a few surviving structures from the Exposition, it is the only one still situated on its original site. It was rebuilt in 1965, and renovation of the lagoon, walkways, and a seismic retrofit were completed in early 2009.
