What's your real name? Melissa K. McIntyre
How did you come up with your shop name? My shop's name is Mycentir  Mosaics, pronounced "My Cent Ear" Mosaics. It's my last name McIntyre  rearranged to be your center for mosaic work! ;)
How long have you been creating mosaics?
I've been creating mosaics  since April 2011. What was your first piece? My first piece was a mosaic  sunflower stepping stone.
What other art do you do, if any?
I paint and draw but since discovering mosaics I've been hooked!
What kind of shows have you been a part of?
I've not been apart of  any shows but hope to this year. In South Bend, Indiana this year I'll be  a part of Art Beat 2012.
Have you won any prizes or gotten some kind of cool recognition for your work?
I have won first prize in the Piecemaker's Black and White Challenge with my zebra mosaic "Gentle Soul" (seen below).

What would be your dream to mosaic?
I've always wanted to be a part of Cow-parade and would  love to mosaic a life-size cow sculpture.
Is being an artist your full-time job? What other jobs or hobbies consume your time?
No I have a full time job as well as being a mosaic  artist. I eventually want to carry my mosaic business into my full time  career. :)
Tell us about your family or your daily life or about the  area where you live.
I live in Northern Indiana with my boyfriend, black  lab, and three cats. I've always wanted to live by the ocean and hope  to eventually one day :).
What are some of your favorite things about being part of the PieceMaker group?
This group is very humorous, which I love! Everyone is  always full of helpful tips and advice that help my work as an artist.  We're all friendly and it's a good place to not only get help with your  work but also talk to a friend. :)
