Entry 1, by Sandy Stotz
"This is a wind fairy who is playfully chasing bubbles. The entire
piece is done in iridescent glass and the marbles are iridescent as
well. I used a small wooden table for the substrate and sunk the marbles
slightly."
"The Mosaic Marble Run is constructed over three large plant pots glued
one on top of the other and then covered in ferrocement and mosaics...
there are exactly 237 marbles of all colors of the rainbow all along
the edges of the run. It measures about 24 inches tall, about 24 inches
in diameter at the widest point and weighs a ton (i.e. about 130
Pounds)."
Hand blown glass marbles (thanks to Terri Thompson) used for the eye,
flower centers, and tail. Other materials used: hand cut china - some
tumbled, ceramic tile, stained glass, sheet music under clear glass
(Frances likes to sing), glass beads, and vintage jewelry. All on a
reclaimed cabinet door.
"This piece is 24" wide X 13" high. I used stained glass for the marbles and small mirrors in different
sizes and shapes surrounding the marbles. I used a different color wash
on the grout for each marble and then used grey grout for underneath
the marbles and white grout above the marbles."
"Fire and Ice"
This piece began as a mandala and evolved into a swirling universe. The
fused glass piece in the center was made by the husband of Sherri
Warner Hunter. Other materials include: hand cut blue, yellow and green

gold and green glass nuggets; Van Gogh tiles; and layers of scrap gold,
copper and rose colored mirror. Measures 12 x 12" and is made on Wedi

outline made of marbles, and marbles, and other toys, like Monopoly
pieces, dice and bricks blocks, are scattered around the pebble filled
play ground. Then, the words,"Let's Play" are spelled out with marbles."

Special features include; black stained glass hair outlined with hematite beads, blue ball chain, crystal gems on decorated polymer clay pieces and false eyelashes (donated by my daughter especially for this piece) accent the face, mirror and bicone beads coated in glitter, lovely aqua swirled vintage glass marbles and a floral brooch with aqua stones make up the headpiece and the background is done in beautiful Youghiogheny glass with colors that compliment the design."
